As podcasters increasingly turn to video as an additional medium to distribute their content, Podcastle has launched video interview functionality that enables creators to conduct high-resolution video interviews directly from its web or mobile app. It not only allows hosts and guests to see one another during an interview, but the company says the new feature will allow podcasters to create clips that will promote their show on social media.

“With major video platforms like YouTube dedicating entire departments to the podcasting market, the industry is experiencing a major expansion” said Podcastle CEO Artavazd Yeritsyan. “We’re so excited to deliver studio quality video recording to our users, many of whom have been eagerly awaiting this launch.”

The feature allows podcasters to record remote interviews in studio quality — regardless of internet connection — with local recordings of each track, up to 4K video and lossless WAV audio. There are also multitrack recording and editing features, with additional capabilities in the works such as a screen sharing feature. IT says it will allow a creator to share their screen with a podcast’s audience, something that would be ideal for webinars, educational courses and lectures, and dynamic podcasts.

Podcastle will allow users to invite and video record up to 10 guests through its mobile app on iOS devices or the Chrome browser. Users will need to subscribe to a plan that allows for video creation, with the lowest plan costing $15 per month.

Since the AI-powered audio content creation platform launched last year as a browser extension that uses AI to narrate articles with natural-sounding speech, the Armenia-based Podcastle has developed into an all-in-one platform offering a full suite of tools and features. It says its goal is to be a one-stop-shop to help people create and edit audio content faster and easier.

“Podcastle has been an instrumental tool for audio creators, removing barriers for users through its intuitive, easy-to-learn platform,” said Yeritsyan in the announcement. “We’re thrilled to expand our offering to include video recording, empowering podcasters with even more simple tools to produce high quality content.”

Podcastle announced last October that it had raised $7 million in new funding. At the time, Podcastle said it was working with about 150,000 creators and it had debuted several production tools on its creation platform that enable producers to convert text into podcasts in seconds; create new audio content from video, voice and text; and edit audio with high production quality. The AI-powered audio content creation platform says it also features noise cancellation, audio correction, and audio editing via text edits.
